Mrs. Kim is Korean and the mom of Lane Kim, best friend of Rory Gilmore. She is played by Emily Kuroda is best known for her work on TV's Gilmore Girls, but she has had a long career on stage and screen and is a veteran of East West Players, Los Angeles' premier Asian-American theater group. She began acting and directing in high school and majored in drama at college before launching her career on stage and screen.
